Matt McGovern
Principal
For the past 12 years, Matt has been focused on developing and financing solar projects. He co-founded Cypress Creek Renewables in 2014 and led the company as CEO and board member through its growth into the one of the country’s largest, privately held developer of utility scale solar projects in the country. Matt then co-founded Silver Creek Energy in 2019 to focus on the opportunities unique to the Southeastern United States.
Mike Cohen
Principal
Mike Cohen is a power-market attorney who co-founded Cypress Creek in 2014 and served as the company’s president through its rapid growth into one of the largest developer of utility solar projects in the country. Prior to Cypress Creek, Mike led business development and project finance for North Carolina-based utility-scale solar developer Strata Solar, and served as an attorney at Kirkland & Ellis focused on development, financing and purchase/sale of renewable energy products.
Ben Van de Bunt
Principal
Ben Van de Bunt is a principal in Paramount Equity, LoanPal, Inspire Energy, Nestidd, FHR, Silver Creek, Omni Energy and Rosewood Homes. Ben was the long time CEO and President of Guthy-Renker. Ben has made many venture capital investments in start-ups and serves and has served on many additional boards of directors, including: Houlihan Lokey, Solar City, St. Johns Hospital and the Watts Learning Center. Ben has been married for 30 years, teaches entrepreneurship with his wife Laura at USC, has two daughters and is a graduate of UCLA and Harvard Law School.
Kevin Knee
Principal
Kevin is an experienced renewable energy investor having been involved in the industry for the last 12 years. Prior to being one of the co-founders of Silver Creek Energy, Kevin also co-founded Cypress Creek Renewables in 2014. Kevin was a partner for 22 years at Guthy Renker LLC, one of the largest direct to consumer marketing companies where he managed the finance and operations for the $1.8 billion private company. Prior to that he was an executive for the consumer products division of The Walt Disney Company. Kevin holds a BS degree in Accounting from Saint Francis University.
